GENERAL RENTAL CONDITIONS

The service "Rental of equipment" is provided by Bike Adventures. The rental conditions are an integral part of the rental contract. By accepting the general terms and conditions, the hirer confirms that he/she has read and fully accepted the rental conditions.

1. Taking over the equipment

The hirer takes over the equipment in good working order. The hirer is obliged to make any complaints to the lessor at the time of taking over the equipment.

2. Return of the equipment

The hirer is obliged to return the equipment to the lessor at the end of the rental period defined in the rental agreement and during opening hours. The equipment and all accessories provided by the lessor (helmets, etc.) must be returned to the lessor in perfect condition. If the hirer has lost or damaged accessories, these will be charged to him/her. Material damage will be charged at the published rates mention at end of page under (*)

3. Cancel up your reservation

For cancellations more than 96 hours before the start of the reservation, a 100% refund will be made.
For cancellations between 48 hours and 96 hours before the start of the reservation, a 50% refund will be made.
For cancellations less than 48 hours before the start of the reservation, a 0% refund will be made.

4. Extension of the rental period

An extension of the rental agreement is only possible with the consent of the lessor before the end of the current rental agreement. The lessor may refuse such an extension without giving any reason.

5. Minimum age of the hirer

The hirer must be of age. All minors must present a written parental authorization for cycle rental or be accompanied by an adult.

6. Insurance - Breakage/theft warranty

An additional guarantee can be taken out by the hirer to cover breakage/theft. In this case, you are protected against partial or total breakage, theft by mugging, burglary or when the bike is attached to a fixed point. A deductible of 10% of the repair bill, with a minimum of €10, will be payable in the event of breakage, and a deductible of 10% of the value of the cycle in the event of irreparable breakage or theft. Please note that the guarantee does not in any way exempt the customer from taking the necessary steps, such as filing a complaint, making a sworn statement or providing any evidence that may be requested by the insurer as part of the management and resolution of the claim. In case of theft the renter must declare any accident to Rentabike Paris as well as the police authorities before the end of the rental period, and in all cases within 24 hours - under penalty of losing the benefit of the insurance.

7. Responsibility of the hirer
By signing the rental agreement, the hirer confirms that he has adequately covered the risks associated with the use of the equipment.

The hirer undertakes to use the rented equipment with care, without danger to third parties and in accordance with the attached safety instructions. The hirer is always responsible for the physical and material damages which he causes at the time of the use of the rented equipment (art.1383 and 1384 of the civil code). Bike Adventures will not engage its responsibility in case of damage or accidents undergone or caused by the hirer during the use of the rented equipment. In the event of damage due to an accident, loss, theft or improper handling of the equipment, the hirer shall be liable for the costs of repair. In the event of total damage or loss, the hirer is liable for the replacement value of the equipment.

8. Security deposit

The lessor requires a credit card imprint, an identity document or a cheque as a deposit against loss, theft or damage to the equipment.

9. Applicable law

This contract is subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, in order to compare the points of view of the third parties and to enable them to find a solution to the dispute themselves, a mediator may be appointed by the parties or the judge beforehand. This mediation may then take two possible forms: conventional or judicial. In the event of mediation in the first instance and failure to resolve the dispute, the default court of jurisdiction would be that of the final lessee of the equipment. Upon agreement or in the event of different tenants and possible victims of damage, a single common court may be determined by the court.

* In the event of theft or loss, the service provider will claim a flat-rate compensation of 400EUR per bike or 1500EUR per electric bike returned without battery, i.e. 500EUR per battery.

Any theft or loss must be reported to both the police and Rentabike Paris within 24 hours.

In the case of unreturned or partially returned accessories, the renter agrees to pay an amount equivalent to the value of the complete accessory. Child seat: 100EUR, Key: 20EUR, Helmet: 30EUR, Basket: 20EUR, Saddle: 40EUR
